Plisga & Day Land Surveyors operates with several generations of land surveyors. Most of our Professional Land Surveyors have grown up in the company from summer help jobs, to full time as surveying technicians and then advancing to land surveyors upon successful completion of experience and state testing requirements. Many of our surveyors have a degree from the University of Maine in Surveying Engineering or Surveying Engineering Technology. Jonathan M. Stewart, PLS
Professional Land Surveyor
Jon is a State of Maine licensed Professional Land Surveyor since 2001. He grew up in Bangor attending school and playing many sports but also spending much time outdoors camping, hunting and fishing with relatives. He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees from the University of Maine. Jon lived in New York and Massachusetts for several years but enjoys being settled back in Maine.
Jon’s work resume extends from municipal development to township surveys and tracing of miles of utility lines. He regularly works with residential clients for boundary retracement such as house lots, camp lots and vacant lands. Jon enjoys the diversity of working in this mostly forested state of rugged hills, inland lakes and coastal charm. He travels from the western Maine mountains to downeast coastal islands. He consults for the use of GPS technology applications, remote sensing, GIS and analysis of least squares networks. As an expert witness, Jon has given depositions and court testimony.
Jon has been actively involved in the local and state level of the Maine Society of Land Surveyors. He has presented at various conferences, classes and meetings for MSLS, Maine Bar Association, University of Maine and local schools as an advocate for the land surveying profession.

Adam N. Robinson, PLS
Professional Land Surveyor
Adam has been a State of Maine Licensed Professional Land Surveyor since 2005. He has an Associates Degree in Civil Engineering Technology from the University of Maine. Adam worked a temporary appointment with the U.S. Bureau of Land Management in remote parts of western Maine and in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He has been in full-time practice of land surveying since 1996 and with Plisga & Day since 1997.
Adam excels at boundary surveying of larger tracts of land, industrial ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, and projects requiring extensive records research. In his spare time he enjoys hiking, hunting, camping, and a host of other outdoor activities with his wife Lisa and their three children.

Robert J. Garster, Jr., PLS
Mr. Garster has over thirty-five years experience in the practice of land surveying. His experience includes boundary retracements, subdivision design, topographic surveys, ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, hydrographic surveys, Elevation Certificates and Letter of Map Amendments (LOMA’s) and GPS control surveys. His specific experience includes field work in Antarctica, Alaska and Maine. His work has ranged from small boundary surveys to BLM Native Allotment Cadastral surveys. A significant portion of his work has included projects for commercial, municipal, state and federal sites.

Stevenson W. Sheppard, PLS
Shep’s experience includes subdivision and site development surveys, engineering, construction, and deformation surveys, 3D laser scanning surveys, hydrographic surveys, geodetic control surveys and GPS surveys for photogrammetric mapping and LiDAR. His work has ranged from small boundary surveys in urban areas to acreage verifications for remote woodlands covering thousands of acres, to large engineering surveys on a variety of commercial, residential, municipal and industrial sites, to geodetic and engineering surveys on right of way projects covering over a hundred miles. He has also managed and performed GPS surveys to extend high order, geodetic quality control and establish photocontrol points supporting two cycles of Maine’s 5-year Statewide Orthophoto program and associated Lidar surveys covering the state of Maine.
Shep is, and has been, actively involved in several surveying and community organizations including the Maine Board of Licensure for Professional Land Surveyors, National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS), Maine Society of Land Surveyors (MSLS), the Industrial Advisory Committee for the Surveying Technology Program, University of Maine, and the Orono Economic Development Corporation.

Allan F. Gordon, Jr., PLS
Allan graduated from the University of Maine in 1981 with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Surveying Engineering. He became a State of Maine Licensed Professional Land Surveyor in 1989.
Allan worked at Plisga & Day from 1985 to 2006, before embarking on his own land surveying practice. He returned to Plisga & Day in 2021, working at the Good Deeds office in Belfast,
Allan works on boundary surveys and records research projects. He has varied interests, including antique automobiles and firearms.
Shawn Mitchell, PLS
Shawn Mitchell, PLS, Shawn grew up in Minot, Maine and graduated from the University of Maine in 2018. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Surveying Engineering Technology, and minored in both Construction Engineering Technology and Engineering Entrepreneurialism. He began his career with Plisga & Day as a Survey Technician after graduation, and became a licensed Professional Land Surveyor in 2021. Shawn has spent his time working on a variety of land surveying projects, including boundary, topographic, subdivisions, site plans, ALTA/NSPS land title surveys, as-built surveys, and various construction layout projects across the state of Maine. He enjoys seeing a project through, starting with the research/field preparation, to locating/finding evidence in the field, and preparing a final plan for his clients. Outside of surveying, Shawn enjoys hiking, snowmobiling, disc golfing, and spending time with his family, cat, and puppy. He likes to travel to new places, though also enjoys regular visits to Disney with his wife Sarah.
Julian Wiggins, PLS
Professional Land Surveyor
Julian attended Bates College and University of Otago, Dunedin New Zealand receiving a B.S. in Geology from Bates College in 2001. He later received a Master of Forestry degree from the University of Maine at Orono in 2008. He has many outdoor interests including hiking, climbing, canoeing, cross country and backcountry skiing. He spent a couple of years volunteering for national service through AmeriCorps in New Hampshire and Maine in 2002-2003 where he taught environmental education and led trail crews working on recreational trail construction and repair.
Julian’s resume includes time spent in recreational trail construction, residential construction, recreation management, ski trail grooming, and forest management, transitioning into work as a survey technician for Plisga & Day starting in 2008. He was licensed as a Maine Professional Land Surveyor in 2015.
He is an active member in various organizations including the Orono Land Trust, Penobscot Valley Ski Club, The Nature Conservancy, and Maine Appalachian Trail Club.

Timothy F. Cady, PLS
Professional Land Surveyor
Tim manages the Houlton Area Office. He is a veteran of the United States Air Force. Tim has an Associate of Science degree in Forest Management Technology from the University of Maine. He has worked as a Department of Defense Forest Technician, Maine Forest Products Industry Logger and Sawyer. He is the Linneus Planning Board Chairman. He is active in his church and with his family. Tim is a State of Maine Licensed Professional Land Surveyor since 1994 and has been full-time practice of land surveying with Plisga & Day since 1986. Keith E. Blanchard, PLS
Professional Land Surveyor
Keith enlisted in the U.S. Navy after graduating from Brewer High School. He later earned a degree from EMCC, then furthered his education in land surveying at the University of Maine in Orono. Since joining Plisga & Day Land Surveyors in the spring of 1999, he has gained extensive experience in boundary, topographic, subdivision, site plan, ALTA/NSPS land title, as-built, and construction layout surveys across Maine. In 2006, he became a licensed Professional Land Surveyor in the state. Continuing to expand his expertise, he obtained his Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate in 2020 and has since conducted hundreds of UAV flights using advanced surveying drones.

Patrick J. Donovan, PLS
Professional Land Surveyor
Pat has been employed full-time with the firm since 1998 and been a State of Maine Licensed Professional Land Surveyor since 2000. In 1979 Pat graduated from the Residential Building Construction program at, what is now, Eastern Maine Community College in Bangor. Pat worked as a carpenter and cabinet maker for 10 years in Kentucky, Pennsylvania and Maine, He earned an Associate Degree in Civil Engineering Technology from the University of Maine in 1994 and has worked in the land surveying field ever since.

Clark G. Staples, PLS
Professional Land Surveyor
Clark has been working for Plisga & Day Land Surveyors since the late 1980s when he worked summers while in college at the University of Maine at Orono. He graduated from the University in 1991, with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering Technology and worked for a year as a field engineer at a water treatment company. In 1993, he began working full time at Plisga & Day and became a Maine Licensed Land Surveyor in 2002. From 2003 to 2005 he lived on the Eastern Shore of Maryland working for engineering and surveying firms on large housing developments, shore front condominium surveys and ALTA/ACSM surveys. Since 2005, he has been back in Maine working at Plisga & Day on small boundary surveys, ALTA/ACSM surveys, utility corridor surveys, and whatever else comes along. In 2014, Plisga & Day purchased Good Deeds Land Surveying in Belfast, and Clark has been working in that office since that time. When he is not working he enjoys building boats, rowing, canoeing, and spending time with his wife.

Robert Cousins
Robert Cousins, Professional Forrester and SIT, graduated with BS in Forestry from the University of Maine. With over 10 years of forestry experience, Bob assists with deed research, field operations and CAD drafting. With firm since 2025.

Colby Chambers a graduate of EMCC, assisting with field operations and CAD drafting.
Tyler Peabody
PE (2023), a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Maine, Tyler coordinates and executes many facets of our complex layout, ground scanning, Civil 3D Models in addition to being outside, building trails and riding his mountain bike.
Andrew Madsen
Andrew Madsen graduated from Wheaton College (IL) in 2020 with a B.S. in Geology and a Mathematics minor. After college, he decided to try surveying because he heard it would get him outside more. Andrew helps with many components of field and office work, and particularly enjoys working on large, complex boundary surveys and conservation easements. He is currently taking surveying courses from UMaine in pursuit of his LSIT. Outside of work, he enjoys biking, cross-country skiing, canoeing, and backpacking with his wife, Lauren.
Zach Emerson
A graduated EMCC with an associate degree in Building Construction and Applied Sciences in 2024. Zack’s duties include field work, updating and maintaining equipment, and drafting on AutoCAD. Zack enjoys golfing and is restoring a house in Brewer.
Jon Barrett
A graduate of the University of Maine, Jon assists the firm with work both in the field including robotic total station and RTK GPS surveying, and in the office with CAD drafting and records research.

Sara Charette, ADMINITRATINVE ASSISTANT/ COLLECTIONS
Sara’s has been with the company since 2019. Sara’s duties with the company include office day to day production, handling our collections practices, and working as the liaison between our Bangor, Maine office and our Belfast Office known as Good Deeds.
Sheryl Grimes
Joined firm in 2016, she is our primary receptionist handling communications and billing.
Jeannette Roy
Controls office flow, manages accounts receivable and maintains office inventory. With the firm since 1982.
